After more than 9 years of Internet marketing, I have finally been banned from a forum.
A guy named buddy had a supposedly free advertising forum that I discovered yesterday. And so, being fat, dumb, and happy,
I boogied on over there and signed up last evening and posted a couple times, including my standard forum introduction.
To my surprise, I had a PM from him this morning telling me that he had edited my intro because it was advertising!
It was my standard forum intro that I have posted numerous places and did not contain any links, just generic
statements about what businesses I operate.
So I PM'd him back asking what I had done wrong, and he informed me that he considered my intro to be advertising,
and that even my signature was not in keeping with his forum rules. So I replied by telling him that I thought that
since his forum was called a free advertising forum he perhaps should change the name of it, since he was so touchy
about what was being posted, and to cancel my membership.
Well a few minutes ago, I went back to that forum and discovered that not only had I been banned, but that he had
also changed the name of the forum. It is now called a marketing forum. Go figure!
I have no problem with his censorship of my information, it's his forum so he can do whatever he wants to do. But I
find it rather humerous that he took the suggestion of a banned member and changed the title of the forum! |

| I know the site your talking about its good to see that he has changed the name of the forum. Free advertising means just that if you can`t advertise a forum on it unless you pay then it`s not a free advertising forum. |

You're right, Chris. I really got a good laugh from the whole thing. It seems like I'm not the only one who has had trouble with this guy.
We had quite a discussion on this over in Brad's Debt Free Life forum. |

Thanks for telling your story because it made me laugh. :lol:
I don't thing I belong to that forum. Does his forum have Buddy in the name? I have seen this banner with buddy in the name and it's a forum. I think I have seen this banner on a Top Site List forum.

| I think that I got in trouble with him once for posting a link to my free ad forum on his site! I think that's against his rules, which I found funny since that's how I found his site! Oh well, there are plenty of other forums around with great people hosting them. |

Yeah, that seems to be his hangup. He apparently doesn't want anyone else contaminating his forum with their own forum links. |

Yes Lisa it was called Buddy`s Free Advetising I guess now its called Buddy`s Marketing Forum.
epm2005 you are not the only one to get in trouble I even got a PM from him telling me not to post my Blog on there anymore. I could have understood if it had porn or something on it., but it didn`t. Your right there are a lot of other forums out there that have free advertising on it that is just that free advertising. I can understand warning spammers, but free advertising should mean free advertising. To your success! :D |

Im sure that is a forum I had problems with a few months ago for using a signature in the intoductions forum although it says You can now so maybe its not.
I just had a look and even in the introductions he uses a banner ad which must be against his own rules.

Thank you for sharing.
I believe I had been at that forum previously,
but never really had any difficulties.
Probably just luck.
Doesn't make me anxious to return to that site. |

What's the forum? I mean the site. Can you give us the url?
Maybe you shouldn't advertise just in the intro thread but you can have all the links you want in the other threads.
Anyways, haven't encountered those. My pages are still alive in those free ad forums.

| I know this is an older post but I know of many people who were banned from buddy's so called free advertising forum and not only that, his/her reply to them via PM was down right rude. |
